Where Are We Right Now

Present Cohort of Students
There are 20 students in our first cohort of children we are sponsoring for the calendar year 2025.

Sponsored Schools
The students have been selected from 2 schools Gurungweni ELCZ Secondary School in Chikombedzi, Zimbabwe. And Bungwe Primary School in Mberengwa District, also in Zimbabwe.

Student Selection criteria
- 10 boys and 10 girls
- At least 6 have one or two parents deceased
- At least 5 have parents that are chronically ill or a caregiver who is elderly
- The youngest child is 5 years old and is in ECD A grade
- The oldest child is 15 years old and is in Form 3
- The students were identified primarily as learners in need of financial assistance to attend school

Poverty Impact
Approximately 4.8 million children live in poverty, making it difficult for them to afford necessary materials and data for online learning.

Out-of-School Rate
Approximately 26% of children of lower-secondary school age are not enrolled in school.

Rural Population
48% of Zimbabwe’s population are children, and 72% of them live in rural areas, where access to quality education can be more challenging.
